Cubanelle Peppers is the star of this years garden star

Cubanelle peppers yellow-green to red tapered fruit is prized for a sweet mild flesh. This baby is growing in popularity because of its rich flavor and pretty colors for frying and cooking. The thin-walled pepper is especially suited for fast cooking.          

   Cubanelles are very popular in dishes of Spanish, Italian, and Slavic descent, many cooks prefer it to bell types. In the garden, Cubanelle peppers are amazingly unique, often growing in imperfect shapes and changing color from green/yellow to shades of orange to red. Don’t be surprised if the some of the peppers curl and twist a bit. No two seem to ever be alike — it’s part of of their charm. The redder the sweeter,but we are not prejudice we like all colors.

a LOOK A MONTH after planting

The tomatoes are on the left.So far,they are doing the best..The beans ,squash, peppers,and cucumbers are on the right. Keep your fingers crossed ,the stuff is growing.One day ,a close-up photo after we pick some ready to eat food.. .

2014 garden is in the ground

Lets see how it does... We shall see how  the tomatoes,beans,peppers, squash grow..  We are going to try some mulch this year. We shall see if MULCH helps or not.  Have a great summer.

Last years garden was o.k. The tomatoes were nothing to brag about.In fact tomatoes will be planted in another location. We shall try another spot for our tomatoes.In fact they were sad.The squash did very well . The winner was squash. We had fair green beans,cucumbers and green peppers.                                             Be back to give an update after some sun and rain....
